American researchers, together with the International League of Dermatological Societies and the American Academy of Dermatology, have found that patients with coronavirus can have long-term skin problems. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

Scientists analyzed 1,000 cases of COVID-19 with various skin manifestations in patients. Researchers were able to identify six cases of skin manifestations of the disease on the toes - they lasted at least 60 days, and two more cases last more than 130 days.

According to the Telegraph, the International COVID-19 Dermatological Register also contains information about patients with coronavirus who have been diagnosed with skin manifestations of the disease on the legs. Approximately half of these patients had an inflamed foot - about 16 percent of them were hospitalized.

It is noted that previously, medicine has not identified a subgroup of patients with long-term skin symptoms of this disease.

Earlier, Rospotrebnadzor said that influenza and COVID-19 viruses have a similar picture of the disease - they cause respiratory illness and are transmitted by contact. However, the important difference between the two is the transmission speed.
