Scientists from the International League of Dermatological Communities and the American Academy of Dermatology have discovered an unusual manifestation of the coronavirus. This is reported by Izvestia, referring to the publication of The Telegraph.
According to a survey of patients with COVID-19, the disease can manifest itself not only with typical symptoms in the form of cough and fever, but also as irritation on the toes, the newspaper writes.
Before that, a similar symptom - irritation on the toes, similar to frostbite, in which they blush strongly - did not appear, notes RBC. This usually lasts one to four weeks and can lead to swollen feet. However, in some patients, the symptom persisted for several months. In most cases, scientists report, this symptom manifests itself in a mild form.
The British newspaper also cites data on patients with coronavirus, which were registered in the International Dermatological Registry COVID-19. According to the publication, about half of these patients experienced foot inflammation and about 16% of them were hospitalized.
What is the reason for this manifestation of COVID-19, scientists are going to establish.
