According to the newspaper, in a number of clinics the number of operations performed this year has increased fivefold. The pandemic, one might say, has thrown a lifeline to plastic surgeons. Until this year, interest in such operations in the United Kingdom had been steadily declining. Many preferred to go under the knife in other countries where changing their appearance is much cheaper. The not-forgotten scandal with low-quality implants also had a certain impact. And now, when international traffic is seriously limited due to the coronavirus, the British have no choice but to contact specialists at home.
As the doctors themselves note, people have begun to turn to them for advice more often. Someone noticed new wrinkles, someone stopped liking their nose or lips, and others needed a hair transplant. However, the most popular operation is still changing the size of the breast (25 percent of cases).
