SEVASTOPOL, December 25. / TASS /. The measures taken in Sevastopol to fight the coronavirus cost the federal and regional budgets more than 1.5 billion rubles, Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev said on Friday at a session of the Legislative Assembly.

"The total budget that was spent this year on the fight against covid is 1.55 billion rubles, including 756.6 million rubles from the regional budget," Razvozhaev said.

He clarified that the regional budget covered the costs of equipping hospitals that became covid hospitals, drug provision and additional payments to medical workers who were not entitled to federal payments, as well as other expenses.

In addition, according to the data presented by him, almost 9.5 billion rubles were allocated from the federal budget and 3.1 billion from the regional budget to support the economy in Sevastopol.

According to the government, more than 80 new cases of coronavirus infection are now recorded in the city every day, and the high alert mode introduced due to the pandemic has been extended until January 15. To treat patients with coronavirus, an infectious diseases hospital, city hospitals 1 and 9 are involved. Also, in isolated cases, civilian patients are received by the hospital of the Ministry of Defense, mild cases are treated in the converted buildings of the Izumrud boarding house. Primary care physicians and volunteers work with those who are in self-isolation due to a mild form of illness or as having been in contact with an infected person.
