A long time ago, almost ten years ago, I first appeared on television. Then, on the dark sidelines of the news studios of the REN TV channel, I heard the word “telegenicity”, which was unfamiliar to me before. I was seated in front of the camera, asked to read the text from the prompter and later happily concluded: “Svetlana, you are telegenic! The camera loves you. At that moment I realized that between me and the viewer there will always be she, the Camera, and with this lady I need to work together.

As a TV presenter, I made my debut with sports news. We were looking for a suitable image together with stylists. They picked up a pair of blue-toned jackets, three light-colored shirts for them, in the style of the most restrained and closed. Of the accessories, something small and not pretentious was allowed. This was my uniform.

The clothes, of course, were previously tested for the right to appear in the frame: they did not strobe, did not shine, did not distract attention, harmonized with the studio. All these rules were dictated by Mrs. Kamera.

Further to my face, they began to try on various hairstyles and styling, maintaining the restrained image of a thoughtful, serious news anchor. The camera is a capricious lady: if natural curls suit you in life, then on the screen they may look too simple, give the image unnecessary frivolity. This was the case in my case. In the end, we settled on the hair pulled back in the parting on the side - it looked good in the frame.

The final stage of creating the image was television makeup. It was then that I felt a "ton of plaster" on myself, which may seem excessive in everyday life, but it will look natural in the frame.

Knowledgeable people explained: the camera and the light dim the brightness of the makeup, and so that the skin does not shine throughout the broadcast, remains matte, a dense tonal base and powder are needed. From here, the same “ton” is typed, which one has to wear on the face for the entire shooting.

Light helps to create a beautiful picture for the Camera, it really works wonders: evens out the complexion, emphasizes the contours advantageously. But he also has the other side of the coin: the heat of the spotlights drives the cosmetics deep into the pores, and this, of course, spoils the skin very much. I remember how some well-meaning girls, or I don't know for what reasons, warned me:

“Sveta, think carefully if you are ready for such work. All TV presenters have their skin in a terrible state by the age of 30!"

But this year I will turn 30, I am writing and do not believe in it, how quickly time flies! And the skin is good, the hair is good, and on the whole everything is fine. How did I manage not to justify the sad predictions? Let's figure it out.

HOW TO SAVE SKIN FOR THE SCREEN AND FOR LIFE: THE EXPERIENCE OF SVETLANA ABRAMOVA

First, you need good decorative cosmetics. When I started my professional career on television, Jane Iredale mineral cosmetics made its debut on the Russian market. She not only brilliantly performs her decorative function, but also cares for the skin, has healing properties. The bestseller of the brand is mineral powder, one of my personal must-haves.

Naturally, in my cosmetic bag and in the arsenal of makeup artists who work with me, there are cosmetics of other brands: Make Up For Ever, Bobby Brown, Inglot, Becca, Giorgio Armani, MAC, and it is not always good for the skin. Therefore, the most important thing is to cleanse your skin every day and very thoroughly from everything that you put on it, be it makeup for a TV screen or a light nude for every day.

Cleansing. I love trying new things, but I always choose cosmetics with natural ingredients. To remove makeup I use oily products, now I have Guerlain Secret de Purete Crystal Lotus Flower. The cleansing program necessarily includes washing with a soft moisturizing foam. I really like Avene Mousse Nettoyante and Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser.

Toning. The next step for clear and radiant skin is toning. I tried a huge amount of all kinds of lotions, I remember Thayers Witch Hazel Aloe Vera Formula, Alcohol-Free Toner, Rose Petal; Кiehl's Ultra facial toner; Caudalie water for facial beauty. Recently I have been using mycelial water instead of tonic, I really like Bioderma and La Roshe-Posay.

Moisturizing. I have dry, sensitive skin. I won't live a day without a soothing, moisturizing cream. Precisely creams, I do not like gel textures. The best moisturizers I found at La Roche-Posay (my favorite is Toleriane Rishe, a soothing protective cream for allergic skin), there are good remedies of this spectrum at Avene, Doliva, Weleda. Sometimes I pamper myself with La Mer, but I think the prices for the products of this brand are very high.

Before going to bed, especially in winter, I like to apply frankly "greasy" means. Now I have Madre Magic cream with manuka honey and Weleda Wildrose Smoothing Care Pearls face oil in my arsenal. In the morning I use a light cream, always with SPF protection, because, as the surgeon of our project "10 years younger" Sergei Blokhin says, ultraviolet light doubles the aging of the skin.

The more stress the skin experiences, the more attentive you should be to the mandatory steps of care and to the choice of products. And it doesn't matter at all which side of the screen you are on, the main thing is that your face shines with beauty, youth and health.
