In Russia, 16,710 new cases of COVID-19 were detected per day. The total number of cases reached 1,513,877. Of these, 26.7% of patients had no clinical manifestations of the disease, the operational headquarters for combating the spread of coronavirus reported. Over the past 24 hours, 229 deaths have been recorded. Currently, 349,305 Russians are sick with coronavirus infection in the country.
Over the past 24 hours, 7704 patients have fully recovered in Russia. A total of 1,138,522 Russians were discharged (about 75% of all cases). Since the beginning of the pandemic, 26,050 patients with coronavirus have died in the country, which is about 1.72% of the total number of those who have contracted the infection.
In terms of the number of new cases of COVID-19, Moscow is still in first place - 4,455 patients. The capital is followed by St. Petersburg - 709 cases, Moscow region - 491, Nizhny Novgorod region - 396, Rostov region - 306 patients.
The smallest number of new cases was recorded in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug - five people, Chechnya - nine, the Jewish Autonomous Region - 41, Tatarstan and Magadan Region - 48 patients each.
According to Johns Hopkins University, on the morning of October 25, 42,624,910 cases of infection with a new type of pathogen were registered in the world. 1,149,928 people became victims of the infection. The United States is in first place in terms of the number of cases of coronavirus - 8,576,725 (224,889 people died). The second line is occupied by India, where the number of patients with COVID-19 reached 7 864 811 (118 534 victims), the third - Brazil (5 380 635, 156 903 deaths).
Russia in this list is in fourth place, and in terms of the number of deaths - in 13th. The fourth position in the number of deaths from coronavirus infection is occupied by Mexico (88 743 with 886 800 identified patients), the fifth - by Great Britain (44 835 and 857 043), the sixth - by Italy (37 210 and 504 509).
The situation with COVID-19 in Russia has deteriorated significantly compared to September, the Center for Economic Research noted. Because of this, scientists were forced to introduce a new color on the map - "dark red", indicating the regions with the most difficult situation. The most stable situation remains in four subjects - the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Chechnya, Ingushetia and the Leningrad Region. The most difficult situation is in eight regions - Buryatia, the Altai Republic, Novosibirsk and Novgorod regions, Mari El, Sevastopol, the Nenets Autonomous Okrug and Chukotka.
Earlier, the headquarters for the fight against coronavirus in Russia said that they would not recommend closing the borders due to the pandemic. The day before, the headquarters said that children are 1.5 times more likely to carry coronavirus infection than adults, although they usually get mildly ill. According to experts, it was possible to establish this pattern after examining more than 280 thousand cases of COVID-19 infection. Experts recommended, if possible, to reduce contacts of children with people over 65 years old.
