Investigators have filed the charges based on social media posts ahead of the January 23 protests.

On January 28, the Investigative Committee announced the initiation of a case against Volkov. He was accused of posting on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with calls to take part in uncoordinated promotions. The authorities did not give permission to hold them due to the difficult epidemiological situation, the UK said.

After the initiation of the case, Volkov said on Facebook that in principle he would not comment on it, as he considered it "a typical case of imposing a false agenda." Earlier, he turned to his parents with a proposal not to let their children go to rallies, where it could be dangerous, but to come on their own.

The case of the involvement of teenagers in the protests was opened on January 22. At the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced an inspection of the heads of Navalny's regional headquarters, who were suspected of preparing "provocations and violent actions." The police believe that instructions on involving teenagers in the protests were given by Volkov and Ivan Zhdanov, director of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (recognized as an NGO that acts as a foreign agent).

Navalny and his supporters called for taking to the streets after the politician was arrested for 30 days. He was detained at the airport on his return from Germany at the request of the Federal Penitentiary Service, which accused him of violating the conditions of the probationary period in the Yves Rocher case and demanded to replace his suspended sentence with a real one.

After the rallies, a series of criminal cases were opened, including those on violation of sanitary and epidemiological norms. Within their framework, on January 27, a series of searches took place, including at the apartments of Navalny's wife Yulia and his brother Oleg.

FBK lawyer Lyubov Sobol and a member of the Pussy Riot group Maria Alekhina were detained as suspects in violation of sanitary rules. Today the Tverskoy court will choose a preventive measure for them.
