In Italy, about 103 thousand tests for COVID-19 were produced per day, 14,245 new cases of infection were detected, which is 2,414 more cases than the day before. This was announced on Sunday by the country's health ministry.
The ratio of the number of processed tests to the number of positive results obtained was 13.8% (versus 17.6% on Saturday).
New cases of infection were found in all regions of the country, but most of them were detected, as the day before, in Veneto - 3 419, Emilia-Romagna - 1 818, Lombardy - 1 709 and Lazio - 1 681.
At the moment, 576,214 people are accurately identified carriers of the virus in Italy. 23,075 infected people were hospitalized with symptoms of the disease (plus 127 per day). Intensive care is required for 2,583 seriously ill patients (plus 14). Another 550 55b asymptomatic carriers of COVID-19 are in quarantine and self-isolation at home (minus 989).
14,746 people recovered and were discharged. The number of people cured of the coronavirus is now 1,503,900. 347 patients have died during the day. In Italy, COVID-19 has already claimed the lives of 75,332 people.
In total, during the pandemic, 2,155,446 people were infected with a new type of coronavirus in the country, including those who died and recovered.
