Celebrity makeup artist and creator of the Art Up beauty salon Alena Lapina (@lapinamakeup) told how to choose lipstick in winter and explained why you should give up glitter in the cold season.
In winter, always carry a nourishing and revitalizing lip balm with you, preferably with vitamin E (read about my favorites here). And approach the choice of lipsticks carefully. First, ditch long-lasting products and pigments that dry your lips. They contain components that tighten the skin of the lips, which is why it cracks in the cold. Set the glitters aside. They have few fatty components and a lot of moisture, in the cold they, on the contrary, take moisture from the skin of the lips.
Look for lipsticks with fat and nutrients. Most brands have a line of richly pigmented creamy lipsticks that guarantee gentle skincare. I'll tell you about my five favorites.
Lipstick Tint in balm, Shu Uemura
Lipstick with the texture of a caring balm. Smoothes wrinkles, moisturizes and seals moisture inside. In this case, the color on the lips is intense with a wet coating effect. The lipstick is available in 10 shades, from fuchsia to carrot, and has a convenient applicator, which is very valuable if you decide to do your makeup in a taxi.
Lip Color, Tom Ford
This series contains the rare exotic Muru-Muru oil from Brazil, which nourishes the lips, heals wounds and makes it easier to apply lipstick. Due to fatty acids, it literally glides on the lips and is fixed in a smooth, even layer.
Lip Color is available in 50 shades, half of which are perfect nudes. My favorite colors in the palette are 04 Indian Rose and 03 Casablanca.
Lipstick K. I. S. S. I. N. G., Charlotte Tilbury
Softens, moisturizes and protects lips from UV rays. There are no parabens in the composition, but there are waxes that fix the shade and create the perfect lip contour without additional funds. Reflective pigments visually enlarge them and leave a satin finish. Ideal for application and hold. My favorite is the neutral but intense American Sweetheart limited edition shade. It is now available on the official Charlotte Tilbury website.
Cream Vice Lipstick by Urban Decay
This is one of the lines of the famous Vice lipstick, released in 100 shades. Cream Vice Lipstick has a creamy texture and excellent composition. Aloe Vera, jojoba, avocado and babassu oils nourish the lips and keep the moisturizing effect all day long. And vitamins C and E also contain a charge of antioxidants.
Lipstick Lust: Luxtrance Lipstick, Pat McGrath
Water lily extract is responsible for hydration and protection. To ensure that the lipstick has the most intense shade and is comfortable to wear, Pat's team patented a biometric pigment formula that also protects lips from external influences. The tool creates a seamless dense layer, as if "laminating" the lips. You can also experiment endlessly with shades: nude, rich dark and bright. There are 31 of them in the collection.
