Girls with a heart-shaped face are closest to the "mathematical standard of beauty", according to scientists from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University (Philadelphia). This is reported by the Daily Mail, citing a study published in the Aestethic Surgery Journal.

"The concept of" mathematical beauty "implies that there are ideal facial contours, sizes and proportions of parts, together making it harmonious, balanced and attractive. The heart-shaped face embodies the ideal of youth and is the main reference point for anti-aging surgery," explained one of the study authors, surgeon Allan Wulc.

After analyzing the photographs of 55 celebrities, the researchers established the parameters of the "ideal" of the beauty of a woman's face. According to their version, the distance between the eyes should ideally be 59.2 millimeters, between the pupils - 59.2 millimeters, and between the eyes and cheekbones - 13.1 millimeters. The length of the nose on a "mathematically perfect" face is 43.6 millimeters.

In total, 13 metrics were determined, but scientists consider only eight to be "statistically significant" for attractiveness.

“We felt that these parameters could be useful for physicians trying to quantify age-related changes and postoperative improvements. Be that as it may, there are not many criteria for describing an ideal or“aged”face,” Valk added.
