Scientists have found that the technology of exposure to the skin with an electric nano-impulse effectively cleanses the skin from warts and other pathologies without leaving scars. This is reported by New Atlas with reference to Bioelectricity magazine.
Recently, a new way of dealing with skin defects was introduced into practice - stimulation with ultrashort electrical impulses, each of which lasts only one nanosecond, or in other words, one billionth of a second. This method has been effectively used to remove warts, seborrheic keratosis, and hyperplasia of the sebaceous glands.
Electrical impulses create nanometer pores in the affected cells, through which ions of sodium, potassium, and most importantly calcium, which is normally very small inside the cell, enter the cell. This triggers a cascade of reactions that lead to regulated cell death, and the immune system receives a signal to utilize them.
Scientists from the Californian company Pulse Biosciences have evaluated nanopulse therapy. It was found that seborrheic keratosis is treated with this method with an efficiency of 82%, and hyperplasia of the sebaceous glands with an efficiency of 99.5%. Since the electrical nano-impulse does not affect collagen and fibrin, which make up healthy skin, the skin that was under the lesions had no scars.
Recall, usually to remove cosmetic and other defects on the skin (warts, moles, papillomas, etc.), freezing with liquid nitrogen is used, however, after this procedure, they often form again, or a scar may remain in their place.
