Let's start with the fact that the parameters 90-60-90 were invented by fashion designers in the middle of the twentieth century to make it easier to create patterns for sewing women's clothing. This was done without fitting, and therefore, for the show, the girls were selected with approximately the same parameters. Finally, 90-60-90 were consolidated by Christian Lacroix and Jean-Paul Gaultier in the 80s. They were with supermodels Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell and Cindy Crawford.
Fashion designers identified the main distinctive features of the appearance of professional fashion models in the late 70s of the last century: at least 170 cm in height, small breasts, silky hair, straight shoulders, long neck, narrow waist and hips, long legs, thin arms, wide-set eyes, not very large mouth and not very thin lips. Fashion legislators have made recommendations for professional models a law for all women and offered the world a new standard of beauty that has flooded glossy magazines. According to sociologists, most of the fair sex, suffering from depression and torturing their flesh with diets and operations, are regular readers of fashion magazines.
However, in the early 90s of the XX century, professor of psychology at the University of Texas, John Kavoustra, after many years of research, proposed his own formula for female beauty. It turned out that the main role in the male perception of beauties is played not by the eyes or the length of the legs, but by a special coefficient that depends on the main female circumferences.
The ideal woman should have a waist-to-hip ratio of approximately 0.7 (more precisely, 0.6 to 0.72). This is the "coefficient of sex appeal" that models in men's magazines have.
The idea that the overwhelming majority of men like overweight women is true, but only partially. It is not the fullness itself that is important, but how the fat is distributed over the figure, whether there are enough bends in it. But the breast, according to scientists, does not play a very important role. A man by eye assesses a woman's hips and waist, but the ratio of height and weight. Experiments show that if BMI - body mass index (body weight in kilograms divided by height in meters squared) is in the range between 18 and 20, a man experiences an instinctive sexual desire. Those with a BMI of 18.09 correspond to the male ideal. By the way, the fashion models for the most part do not reach this indicator: their average BMI is 17.57, and for the thinnest it is 14.72.
