RED FROM FEET TO HEAD
Use the Givenchy lookbook as a cheat sheet and dress in red - from shoes and tights to dresses, accessories and coats. That being said, you don't have to take risks and dress like the models at the Y Project show. For example, Max Mara and Roksanda got bright, but quite applicable to life combinations.
TURQUOISE
The color of clear sea water is the main color in the future cold half of the year. It looks especially impressive in large blocks: a voluminous sweater, like in Balenciaga, a silk midi dress in a bleached turquoise shade like in Valentino, or a bomber jacket over a sweatshirt in a pre-dawn Yeezy ocean. Very beautiful.
WESTERN FILM
Outfits like the brave guys from The Good, the Bad, the Ugly, the space is dangerous, and even the dotted references to the Wild West will not attract everyone (we are talking about things like the Ashley Williams cowhide jacket and the jeans of the House of Holland rodeo star). The reference Western turned out to be in Raf Simons' debut collection for Calvin Klein. He took recognizable elements like patch pockets and made them as laconic as possible, removing all the cowboy flair.
VELVETEEN
"Corde du Roi" - large corduroy - translates as "fabric for the king." Fashionable in the nineties, cotton ribbed fabric has become one of the most popular materials for the fall-winter season. Clothes made of it should be voluminous and comfortable: the intelligent baggy suits at Lemaire, Prada and Kenzo are perfect examples of this.
FUTURIST SILVER
It is no longer accepted to talk about cosmism in a decent society - they dissuaded me. Nonetheless, Chanel's silver cape duvets, reminiscent of spacesuits, are mesmerizing. And yes, in everything sparkling, you can and should go on weekdays, and not only to themed parties. Just remember how Susan Sarandon ran around New York in jeans and a silver toe-length cloak in The Hunger.
PLASTIC
A raincoat over a fur coat - the life of Russian women, it seems, will never be the same after the first collection of Raf Simons for Calvin Klein. And what about the transparent Emporio Armani trousers, as if specially created for Moscow puddles? Futurism in a new guise returned to the catwalks last winter, but in six months it will acquire truly planetary proportions: that very Calvin Klein fur coat in cellophane has become a real revelation, so we are waiting for replicas from mass-market brands.
SILK MIDI DRESS
Mid-calf (or even floor-length) dresses made of glossy satin have taken the place of lingerie nighties, although we already thought that they were on the trend lists forever. In the current version, midi dresses are reminiscent of underwear only because of the material. Otherwise, nothing extravagant: long sleeves or wide straps, complex cut, pure color. Wear with chunky boots like Valentino, The Row and Louis Vuitton.
OLD -
FLOOR COAT
The Dries Van Noten show with the legendary models of the past decades is a vivid statement about timeless femininity. And an undeniable argument in favor of a very long, cinematic coat with a loose fit. Variations - belt, flounce cuffs or bright canary color - are acceptable and welcome.
PANTSUIT
After Hillary Clinton's election campaign and the accompanying hashtag #PantsuitNation, the familiar pantsuit has once again turned into a political statement about women's rights. And the designers took care of a variety of models: a double-breasted jacket, like in Calvin Klein, a fitted silhouette, like in Loewe and Jil Sander, or an emphatically loose fit, like in Céline. Only two components are required - trousers and a jacket. And yes, pajamas are also almost a suit.
SHEEP TANKS
This is the same inevitability on the autumn-winter catwalks, like the February frosts in Russia. We are talking about sheepskin coats in natural shades with undyed fur inside. The range of models is huge - from the neat Sonia Rykiel leather jackets to long fur jackets made of coats with raw edges.
EXTRA VOLUME DOWN JACKETS
Again. If you didn’t have time to buy an oversized down jacket last winter, you have almost nine months to find it. And if you have time, you can proudly wear it to the most fashionable parties in the winter of 2017-2018. The main thing is that the down jacket is as catchy and voluminous as possible: blue lacquered like in Vêtements or a model with open shoulders like in Public School will fit perfectly. Or at the very least, zip up your regular down jacket obliquely like at the Balenciaga show.
LEATHER COAT
Balenciaga, Lacoste and Olivier Theyskens, as if by agreement, included in the new collections defiantly long black leather coats from the 90s. In contrast, the minimalistic versions of The Row and Louis Vuitton look like a victory of bourgeois chic and emasculated "good taste". Conclusion: even something as distinctive as a leather coat can look different.
VELVET
It comes back almost every winter, and we don't mind - this material looks very festive and certainly more original than sequins. The velvet fashion next winter will be something like a sub-trend: velvet suits with shorts, trousers and harem pants (like Gucci, Self Portrait and Dolce & Gabbana).
EIGHTIES
Nostalgic for a surplus decade has been fashionable for a couple of years now, so you most likely already have everything you need to create looks from the shows of Marni, Saint Laurent, Isabel Marant and Self Portrait. For inspiration, revisit 9 1/2 weeks.
STATETMENT -
JEANS ALL
Once a material for a work uniform, now denim has become a part of even evening wardrobe. Designers remembered the fashion of the 2000s - and offered a lot of completely denim sets for any occasion: very soft and thin denim was at Dior, dense, with a slight sheen - at Calvin Klein and blue with a hint of retro - at Yeezy. The most effective option is a denim overalls, but you can just tuck the shirt into jeans.
FUR SLEEVES
Excessive things in the shoulders like Grace Jones are not the only way to emphasize your inner strength. A more fancy trick is to trim the shoulder line with fur. Fur sleeves can even look emphatically elegant (Haider Ackermann and Dries van Noten know how to achieve this). The most daring in this matter were Undercover, who offered to limit themselves to one experimental sleeve.
TRANSPARENT TOP
Sorry for the pun, but everything is transparent here. Fine mesh, translucent wool, lace without lining - and all on the naked body, as in the shows of Saint Laurent, Calvin Klein and Off White. Previously, such catchy moves were invented for the catwalks (and individual daredevils), but now they really do. If you don't believe it, follow the #transparenttop tag on Instagram.
COLORED FUR COATS
Gradient at Versace, contrasting details at Fendi or multicolored plaid at Miu Miu - fur coats remain with us, but they will become even brighter than last year. Natural or artificial fur - choose for yourself, based on your ethical principles, but in any case, do not disdain colored inserts. Well, or at least wear bright red high fur boots with a classic beige fur coat, like at the Prada show.
LONG UNPAINTED FUR COATS
You look at a long, floor-length, undyed fur coat, which everyone dreamed of in the 2000s, and you remember Nikita Dzhigurda or a rich black guy with a gold chain around his neck, rap in a silver convertible. But Jonathan Anderson, for example, managed to re-invent this fur coat so that it looks incredibly fresh. Obviously, the designer was so pleased with the result that he included such fur coats in the autumn-winter collection of both Loewe and J. W. Anderson.
INSCRIPTIONS-SLOGANES
The trend, of course, is not new, but in the context of what is happening in the world, it suddenly became very important again. With slogans on tops, T-shirts and hoodies, Ashish protests any form of aggression and segregation, Moschino sneers at the absurd consumer rage of the 2010s, and Ashley Williams calls to save the planet.
TOP BRA FOR WINTER
Bra tops are also news the day before yesterday, but next winter they are proposed to be worn either as a completely independent thing (consider, instead of a blouse and without a jacket), or with warm outerwear like a fur coat or sheepskin coat like Preen. No one will remain unnoticed.
