Schema monk Sergius (Nikolai Romanov), excommunicated from the Russian Orthodox Church, announced that he would crown the Russian Tsar. Sergius said this on November 4 in the Sredneuralsk nunnery he had seized earlier during the feast of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God.

A fragment of the video from the holiday was published by the portal Ura.ru. Sergius turns to an elderly parishioner named Nina and says that she wants to tell something to everyone gathered in the monastery.

“I want to say to pray for the restoration of the Russian autocratic kingdom. There will be a king, there will definitely be. Father Sergius invited to " the woman said, trying to remember the words. “To crown the king of the future! Amen!" - concluded the excommunicated monk for her. Then Sergius began tossing apples to the parishioners.

On October 19, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia approved the decision of the Yekaterinburg diocese to excommunicate the disgraced schema-monk Sergius, who had seized the Middle Ural convent. A church court in the Sverdlovsk region ruled to excommunicate him on September 10. Father Sergiy himself did not appear at any meeting.

At the end of August 2020, the Yekaterinburg diocese announced that Sergius (Romanov) intimidates the inhabitants of the Sredneuralsky monastery and does not allow them to see the decree on transfer to other monasteries in an undistorted form. According to the representative of the diocese, relatives of the nuns call the clergy and ask to help them, since the sisters are convinced of the coming of the Antichrist and the prophetic role of Sergius.

Earlier, Sergius was fined for denying the existence of the coronavirus, and investigators also opened a criminal case on torturing children in the Sredneuralsky women's monastery and on the negligence of the prevention system.
