Every year the most beautiful girls of the planet compete for the title of the main beauty. But there are so many beauty pageants that you can get confused in them. The most important beauty contests are the Miss World and Miss Universe contests.
Miss World is only a year older than Miss Universe: the first has been held since 1951, the second since 1952. By the way, the Miss Universe contest from 1996 to 2015 belonged to Donald Trump, but since 2015 it has been run by the famous Hollywood impresario Ari Emanuel.
Both competitions were originally conceived as small contests with a fashion show in swimsuits, but over time they turned into shows of a planetary scale. The requirements for contestants are approximately the same: they must be single and childless, they must have a good reputation and no problems with the law. The participant must be over 17 years old, she needs to know at least one foreign language.
Fans of contests keep statistics of victories, and they are interesting. So, Europeans become "Miss World" more often, but the title "Miss Universe" is more often received by American women. In 2018, Vanessa Ponce de Leon from Mexico became Miss World. 26-year-old Vanessa is the first Mexican woman to be honored to wear the Miss World crown. But the judges of the Miss Universe contest were conquered by the Filipino Katriona Gray, but she did not become a pioneer: the representatives of the country won as many as three victories before her.
