What is Hyaluronic Acid?

It normalizes the moisture balance of the skin and improves its appearance. Low molecular weight hyaluronic acid has an anti-inflammatory effect and is used both in cosmetics (included in creams, tonics, serums) and in the treatment of serious skin diseases - trophic ulcers, burns, psoriasis. The high-molecular form of hyaluronic acid is used in in-room cosmetology for enhanced skin hydration and replenishment (or increase) of volumes."
Does it make sense to use hyaluronic acid cosmetics for home use?
The head of the Corporation of Aesthetic Medicine, Ph. D. Inna Sharypova: Yes. If the skin is neglected, not hydrated and not filled with substances that retain fluid, it looks unkempt and fine wrinkles appear.
Important: if a product with hyaluronic acid is poorly absorbed and rolls down on the skin, it means that it makes the stratum corneum heavier, clogs the space between dead cells (keratinocytes, we exfoliate them with peels) and can cause acne.
Biotechnologist of the international laboratory Librederm Maria Konovalova answers: “By using cosmetics with hyaluronic acid correctly and regularly, injections can be delayed. High molecular weight hyaluronic acid, which is part of cosmetics, forms a film on the skin and prevents moisture evaporation. This film is breathable, your skin will not suffocate under the layer of cream. Also, hyaluronic acid enhances skin protection and promotes healing. And low molecular weight hyaluronate penetrates deeper, maintains skin hydration and increases collagen synthesis."
Too much hyaluronic acid products can lead to facial swelling.
What percentage of hyaluronate should be in the cream?
Inna Sharypova answers: "In cosmetics for home use, hyaluronic acid is usually added in the form of a fine powder, its share is from 0.4 to 2.5%."
Maria Konovalova answers: “It is impossible to determine the input percentage from the information on the package. The ingredients in the list are arranged in descending order of their percentage. If you enter from 0.05 to 0.5%, hyaluronic acid will be listed as one of the last, but this does not mean that the recipe is ineffective."
