The current head of the region during the entire mourning ceremony stood with the closest people of Alexander Mikhailov - his daughter Olga and son Igor. The ex-governor's widow did not attend the memorial service for health reasons.
“The information about the sudden death of Alexander Nikolaevich sounded like a bolt from the blue,” noted Roman Starovoit. - He devoted almost his entire life to serving people, public service, three times was elected to the State Duma of the Russian Federation. For 18 years, in a difficult time, he led the Kursk region. And as a member of the Federation Council, he firmly and skillfully defended the interests of our region. He actually died at his workplace, communicating with people, letting through difficulties and problems. Regarding the leadership of the region, Alexander Nikolaevich and his team formed a solid foundation for the development of the Kursk region. Many projects have been launched and implemented, jobs have been created, kindergartens and schools have been built. We will always remember this, and now we grieve over this loss.
