The mayor of Yakutsk Sardana Avksentieva announced the sale of the city administration building in the center of the capital of the Sakha Republic. The mayor noted that there are already buyers for the municipal property, and urged not to suspect it of selling "cheaply to your friends or relatives." Avksentieva also announced the launch of a program to abandon official vehicles in favor of taxis.
“There is one idea that I discussed with my deputies for a long time, for over a year. And so we jointly made the final decision: we are starting to prepare the city hall building for sale. First on the avenue, a little later - on Oktyabrskaya and Gogol , - wrote Avksentieva on her Instagram page.
The mayor emphasized that the sale of municipal property is a strictly regulated procedure, which must be strictly observed and carried out in an open manner. “There are interested potential buyers, but everything must be observed and done openly. Otherwise, they will again begin to suspect and conjecture that I have decided to sell "cheaply" to friends or relatives ", she added.
According to Avksentieva, officials do not have to sit in an expensive building in the very center of the city. “We are ready to build an inexpensive building and move there. For example, my first deputy, Evgeny Grigoriev, offers to be accommodated in the 17th quarter. I support. A building of a new format, without a huge number of offices, where each official can hide behind his door. One space where everyone sees each other”, - explained the mayor and added that for the convenience of residents of the city, a front office will be opened in the center.
Avksentieva also announced the launch of a business taxi program. The mayor believes that the maintenance of the vehicle fleet is expensive. She referred to the experience of the Moscow authorities, where they abandoned official cars at the beginning of 2020. “On business trips, we all calmly go by metro, in some cases - by taxi”, - she asked.
“We continue to get rid of everything that is redundant. New sources are vital to replenish the city budget, - summed up the head of Yakutsk.
Avksentieva accompanied her post with a black-and-white photograph, in which she, as a child, takes part in a volunteer cleanup for the construction of the city hall. According to her, she came to work in the city administration of Yakutsk immediately after university and she has many pleasant and not very pleasant memories associated with this building. “This building is like a house to me, I know every nook and cranny of it, that's why I have been weighing the decision for so long,” she added.
Sardana Avksentieva took over as mayor of Yakutsk in 2018. In the elections, she was ahead of the representative of United Russia and became the first woman to take over as head of the capital of the Sakha Republic. From the very first days in power, Avksentieva began to restructure the work of the city administration. In particular, she put up for sale three elite SUVs on the balance sheet of the mayor's office, fired the official who organized the banquet for one million rubles, canceled the invitation of the designer to the fur fair for 800 thousand rubles, terminated the contract with the contractor who laid the asphalt on the snow, and reduced public transport fares.
