MOSCOW, November 19 - RIA Novosti. "EVRAZ NTMK" (Nizhny Tagil Metallurgical Plant, part of Evraz) has started production of a new type of I-beams - 40SH7, designed for increased loads, follows from the message of the company.

"In the line of construction rolled products, this beam differs in characteristics: it is larger and designed for increased loads. Due to the thickening of the elements, the new product is several times heavier than standard beams: the weight of one meter of length is 290 kilograms, which is several times more than that of a standard I-beam 40SH1 (89 kilograms). This makes it in demand for the construction of load-bearing structures, "- said in the message.

It is noted that different steels can be used for production: ordinary, increased, high strength, as well as with corrosion resistance. The first batch of 500 tons has been ordered for the construction of the Luzhniki Sambo and Boxing School in Moscow, Evraz said.

EVRAZ NTMK is the largest manufacturer of hot-rolled I-beams in Russia, as well as the only manufacturer of high-strength steel construction beams in the country. In recent years, the plant has mastered about a dozen new types of beam products, and several more are in development now. In total, "EVRAZ NTMK" offers on the construction market more than 300 I-beams, from which structures for buildings and structures of any purpose can be produced.

Evraz is a vertically integrated steel and mining company with production assets in the Russian Federation, the USA and Canada, and is one of the largest steel producers in the world in terms of production. In 2019, Evraz increased steel output by 6% to 13.8 million tonnes.
