Residents of Chechnya will be fined for violating anti-coronavirus measures in connection with the increase in the number of new infections.

“Our population, for the most part, is responsible for the appeal of Ramzan Akhmatovich (Kadyrov, head of Chechnya - Ed.) To comply with the instructions of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare. In relation to those who, neglecting the rules of prevention of coronavirus, endanger people's health, penalties will be applied, without any leniency. Irresponsibility will be punished with high fines. The same applies to points of sale, catering and leisure, - said the chairman of the regional parliament, Magomed Daudov, on his Instagram page.

According to him, strict adherence to social distance, mask regime and other preventive measures will avoid an uncontrolled increase in morbidity. “Over the past day alone, 120 new cases of COVID-19 infection have been registered in the Chechen Republic. For our small republic, this is an unacceptably high figure. Fortunately, the bed fund has reserves. Nevertheless, if the situation deteriorates, the health facilities will be under a huge burden,”he added.

According to the latest data, 4,609 cases of coronavirus infection have been identified in Chechnya since the beginning of the pandemic. A total of 2,629 people recovered, another 70 patients died.
