Today is International Albinism Awareness Day. This is a genetic disease when a person lacks a pigment - melanin. But this does not prevent such people from achieving success in life. Thus, the albino sisters from Kazakhstan, thanks to their appearance, became the stars of the catwalk, according to the correspondent of "MIR 24" Gulmira Zhanzakova.
They hide from the sun and only go out in the evenings, and they have to wear sunglasses and sunscreen all year round. It is practically impossible to pass unnoticed. Albino sisters Asel and Kamila became very famous in their native Aktau. For their unusual appearance, many call them "angels in the flesh." “When my first daughter was born, of course, there was excitement. The state was shocking. When they gave it to me, I did not understand. There was joy, but that she had a different hair color, skin color …”, said mother Ayman Sarkytova.
The excitement had to be experienced again after 13 years. The second daughter was born - also an albino. Interestingly, the rare gene was passed down only to girls. The middle son, Aldiyar, has normal dark skin.
Most of all, Asel was delighted at the birth of Camila. Over the years, the girl overcame complexes, learned to be proud of her appearance, found many friends and realized that unusual beauty is a big plus. “My appearance helps me a lot in my modeling career. I hope that modeling will grow into something more. I don't have so many limitations. Mostly they are only available in summer. In the summer, you need to smear with sunscreen several times a day, wear clothes with long sleeves. You should always wear glasses,”said Asel Kalaganova.
Asel began to receive offers from modeling agencies after publications in the media. The girl's page has already gained almost 50 thousand subscribers. Now her younger sister is also involved in the filming. According to statistics, albinos on the planet make up 1% of the total population, which is more than 70 million people.
