The document says that the decision of the supervisory authority is based on the requirement of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation dated 11.02.2021 31.27.2021 / Id1425-21.
The VRKN stated that the publication's material contains "calls for mass riots, the implementation of extremist activities, participation in mass (public) events held in violation of the established order, information materials of organizations whose activities are recognized as undesirable, unreliable socially significant information disseminated under the guise of reliable messages."
“Information was revealed with calls to a bunch of citizens in mass (public) events on 14.02.2021 in Moscow and other cities of the Russian Federation, held with the support of A. A. Navalny. in violation of the established order. There is no information on the coordination of the indicated mass protest actions by the competent authorities in accordance with the procedure established by law,”the attachment to the letter says.
At the same time, the editorial board did not invite to participate in any action, but the publication contained a quote from Navalny's supporter Leonid Volkov. Svobodnye Novosti filmed the controversial publication of the site, but intend to appeal against the RKN demand.
