In the Tyumen OKB 2 they helped a young girl with epilepsy. Demonstration surgery on the patient's brain today, March 5, was performed by the chief neurosurgeon of Russia Vladimir Krylov.

A 20-year-old girl was admitted to a medical facility with a drug-resistant form of epilepsy. For 5 years she suffered from daily and repeated seizures of epilepsy. No medicine helped her. The girl could not live a full life, did not attend school and events, - the press service of the OKB 2 reported to the Ural Meridian news agency.

The only thing that could help her was an operation to remove an epileptic focus in the brain. The efficiency of such operations is about 70%. After them, patients return to full life and gain complete control over their seizures with the help of anticonvulsant therapy.

The operating team under the leadership of Vladimir Krylov included an assistant at the Department of Neurosurgery and Neuroresuscitation of the University Clinic of the Moscow State Medical University. AI Evdokimova Igor Trifonov, as well as the chief neurosurgeon of the Tyumen region, head of the neurosurgery department of OKB 2 Dmitry Vorobiev.
