The environmental prosecutor's office intervened in the case. The deputies of the Kurultai learned about the horror that is going on in Maksimovka from public figures. The activists saw how unknown citizens in anti-plague suits are storing medical waste in a garage on Chekmareva Street. Some of the bags, according to witnesses, managed to break. Syringes and test tubes can freely fall out of them. As it became known, the main warehouse, according to public figures: Diana Demidova and blogger Nikolai Bazhin, is located in the industrial zone in the Ordzhonikidzovsky district. From there, the bags were transported by GAZel to Maksimovka in order to hide them. On the night of November 11, the activists staged a real raid to find out who and why is bringing hazardous garbage to the garage. Diana and Nikolay filmed a video about this and distributed it on social networks. Public activists tried to get the drivers talking, but they said they did not know anything. The young people called the police. At this time, the truck managed to make two trips. Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and sealed the garage. At present, representatives of the Bashkir Environmental Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office are investigating this fact. “As part of the inspection, specialists from the competent authorities will be involved, and the premises used for waste storage will be inspected. The police were also instructed to organize a pre-investigation check on this fact, the department noted. Alexander Veselov, chairman of the Union of Ecologists of the Republic of Bashkortostan, believes that all this horror is not the fault of medical institutions. The representatives of the hospitals themselves do not know where the waste is sent after delivery. The tender system has resulted in leaders of organizations hiring firms that charge least for it. Where the garbage is then taken away, no one controls. According to Alexander, most likely, there are tens and hundreds of such warehouses. It's just that no one knows about it. Medical waste cannot be simply stored in a utility room. According to the law, they must be crushed, disinfected or incinerated.
