At the dealer conference, the company presented two concepts based on the Kia Sorento. Both SUVs are designed for travel, one for the mountains, the other for the deserts.
Show cars Yosemite Edition and Zion Edition have increased ground clearance of up to 21 centimeters and an additional mode for driving on snow. The motor is offered in 2.5 liters and 285 horsepower. It is paired with an eight-band robotic transmission.
Concepts got their names for a reason. They not only talk about the range of cars, but also symbolize famous American parks. Yosemite Edition is painted green with glossy details. The Zion Edition is finished in a sandy shade, with custom wheel arches and 32-inch tires.
Manufacturers position the new models as trail-ready, that is, they are already ready for trips on asphalt surfaces and are suitable for light off-road conditions. In the Russian Federation, Kia promised to release a diesel version of the Sorento, but the launch had to be postponed.
At the same time, the company did not explain the reasons why the launch was delayed. Rumor has it that the problem is in the flashing of the control unit of the robotic transmission.
