The event was attended by the governor of the Kursk region Roman Starovoit, representatives of political parties, public associations and youth organizations.
The ceremony participants honored the memory of the fallen soldiers with a minute of silence and laid wreaths and flowers at the Eternal Flame, at the grave of Mikhail Bulatov, Hero of the Soviet Union.
“It seems to me very correct that we begin to celebrate this day, remembering the heroes who defended our country. Laying wreaths and flowers at the Eternal Flame is a good tradition. Today we say words of gratitude to our servicemen. We have a large Kursk territorial garrison. Special thanks to the military for significant assistance during the pandemic. Not only the Ministry of Emergency Situations, but also our RChBZ brigade takes an active part in sanitizing medical institutions, ambulances, protecting us, kuryans, also in this way,”said the head of the region, Roman Starovoit.
