Monica Carvalho is a photographer who grew up in Switzerland, studied in England and now lives in Berlin. She has been working in photomontage for five years now and, inspired by the similarities between shots in terms of color, texture and shape, creates surreal photo manipulations. She does all her work with Photoshop, using her own (non-stock) photos.
“For example, the two mountain peaks I shot in Greece reminded me of my upper lip; the road to Oxford was the same color as my skin; The zip case looked like eyelashes. I also love to play with dimensions. So my friends fit in my palm, and the Empire State Building turned into a giant candle,”says Monica about her work.
