Petersburg may be excluded from the list of cities where matches of the European Football Championship are to be held next year. And all because of the unfavorable epidemic situation.

According to analysts, St. Petersburg residents are highly active among million-plus cities, despite the pandemic of the new coronavirus infection. In this regard, the authorities require the townspeople to observe the mask and glove regime. Especially in public transport, there are daily raids. Moreover, they check not only passengers, but also drivers and conductors of buses, metro and trolley buses. Those who find themselves in public transport without masks and gloves, while not fined, are limited to warnings.

“The tendency is that residents are sympathetic to the problem, they have become more responsible for their health, for the health of others, they use masks both in public transport and on the street,” said the acting head of the department for control of urban and suburban passenger transport of St. Petersburg Vladimir Pobizhan.

The townspeople are reminded that the glove and mask regime must be observed not only in public transport, but also for those who use taxis and car sharing services. For violation of this, a high fine for legal entities and individuals is threatened.

Meanwhile, in St. Petersburg, 113 grades in 55 schools have already switched to distance learning. There are still 10 days left before the start of the autumn school holidays; the St. Petersburg authorities do not plan to extend these holidays yet.
