So far, only dexamethasone is effective against COVID-19. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adanom Ghebreyesus.

"Interim results from this study now show that the other two drugs, remdesivir and interferon, have little effect on reducing mortality or hospital stay," said the WHO director general.

According to Tedros Adanom Ghebreyesus, large-scale studies have proven ineffectiveness of drugs such as hydroxychloroquine, lopinavir and ritonavir.

It is noted that in September the Russian Ministry of Health approved the outpatient use of domestic drugs for COVID-19 with the international non-proprietary name Favipiravir - Coronavir from R-Pharm and Areplivir from Promomed. As the doctors said, this medicine should be taken by patients with moderate severity of the disease.

Recall that in Russia over the past day, more than 15 thousand new cases of coronavirus were recorded. For all the time, 1,369,313 cases of coronavirus infection were detected in the country in 85 regions.
