Stella Falcone contracted a bacterial infection from a small cut in her cuticle at a nail salon in Melbourne. The girl went to the hospital, where she subsequently underwent five operations in six days. “The equipment in the nail salon was not sterile,” explains Falcone. "Because of this, I lost a phalanx of my finger."

The Australian woman decided to tell her story after watching the TV show A Current Affair. The invited guest, physician and politician Kerryn Phelps, noticed a cut on the presenter Alex Bernhardt's finger and advised her to go to the hospital immediately.

After that, hundreds of women admitted that they had contracted infectious diseases from a non-professional manicure. So, Australian Rita Pavlis (Rita Pavlis) also lost part of her finger after going to a nail salon.

“I was left without a nail when the doctors were forced to cut my finger”,

- she recalls.

The owner of the salon to which Bernhardt applied for a manicure wished to comment on the incident. In his opinion, the woman “invented a story”, since the employees closely monitor the cleanliness of the salon.
