Kursktv journalists have written more than once about the careless handling of medical waste in the Kursk region, otherwise this situation cannot be characterized. But it is very likely that the new year promises to start with new scandals and new inspections by the prosecutor's office

Kuryans living in the area of the Battery Plant turned to social technologist Roman Alekhin with a request to deal with a spontaneous dump on the bank of a small stream. As the journalists found out already on the spot, if earlier everyone who was not lazy was simply bringing garbage here (by the way, they tried to liquidate the spontaneous dump more than once), today household waste has almost completely replaced medical waste. Quite capacious barrels, which, judging by the labels, until recently were a container for pharmaceuticals produced by Pharmstandard, were carelessly dumped both on the bank of the stream and submerged in the water. Judging by the labels, until recently, these "containers" contained azithromycin, arbidol, rimantadine, levofloxacin, and some other drugs. Tellingly, the list of names suspiciously copies the one according to which medicines are received by persons treated on an outpatient basis for COVID-19.

Judging by the amount of waste discharged, it may well not be about some small private enterprise, say, a pharmacy. It is likely that either the fourth city hospital, or the third one, which is also located nearby, or Pharmstandard itself decided to "save" in this way. Although it’s hard to believe that a large manufacturer will be so elementary.

The stream in question flows into one of the Seim's tributaries, which, in turn, flows into the main river of the region near the former Red Railway Bridge. In addition to barrels of medicines, ordinary garbage bags are also dumped here, in which there are medical masks and gloves, the need to burn which, as I recall, we have already mentioned more than once in previous publications.

We hope the prosecutor’s office will find out who should be said “thank you” for the next environmental bomb thrown to the residents of Kursk. And I would like to believe that this year, such obvious violations of the law will become a pretext for at least an administrative proceeding, and will not turn into last year's replies with the obvious subtext “the facts have not been confirmed”. In any case, as in 2020, we dare to assure that there are photos and video evidence of the existence of an illegal dump in the editorial office, and journalists are still quite ready to conduct a detailed excursion to law enforcement officers.
