Gloves do not protect against coronavirus infection, but, on the contrary, are dangerous, as they contribute to infection with other diseases, from which the natural protection of the hands protects. This statement was made by Vitaly Zverev, Head of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology at Sechenov University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences. His words are quoted by Interfax.
The specialist believes that the gloves are a commercial project, and there is no virus on any surfaces. Being in gloves, people collect "all kinds of intestinal bacteria, fungi" and still touch their face after that, if there is such a habit.
“When we bring our hands to our face, a person is much less likely to contract all kinds of fungal diseases than wearing gloves. All this remains on gloves. These microorganisms die on our hands, we have antimicrobial peptides on our hands, our protection, "Zverev explained.
The immunologist also said about the pointlessness of street disinfection, since microorganisms develop resistance, like antibiotics. “If then such a mushroom gets to the hospital, it will not be possible to remove it, because the antiseptics are the same,” the expert added.
At the same time, Zverev claims that it is necessary to wear masks, since if both people in the room are wearing protective equipment, the probability of infection is one to two percent. If only one citizen complies with the precautions, the probability is high - about 80 percent.
Earlier it was reported that the State Duma figured out how to make all Russians use an antiseptic, wear masks and gloves during a pandemic. Deputy Yaroslav Nilov said that the financial side is important in this issue - people do not want to spend money on means of protection. Such citizens need help and provide them free of charge with everything they need to prevent infection.
