Plastic surgeries for breast augmentation, lip correction and face lifting have become commonplace for many for a long time. Some plastic surgeons, in pursuit of profit, are ready to embody any whim of the patient into reality. But a plastic surgeon from Yekaterinburg, Alexandra Morozova, says that she adheres to different principles of work. Before taking on the patient, she often enters the role of a psychologist to figure out whether the problem is invented or not.

Morozova has more than a thousand operations on her account. In an interview with E1. RU, she told what operations are in greatest demand among Yekaterinburg residents, what pushes them to go under the knife and how to understand that it's time for you to see a plastic surgeon.

- How did you become a plastic surgeon?

- Since childhood, I loved to look at wounds. I remember that the boys in the yard were constantly given first aid when they were injured. I first learned about plastic surgery from TV - there was an American program on MTV where people were changed their appearance, and then it seemed to me something incredible. After school, I entered a medical college, and then went to college as a surgeon. In residency, I first encountered plastic surgery, but then I wanted to become a great surgeon. Therefore, at first I worked in an ambulance, and after graduation I went to the hospital as a surgeon. The first years she worked with great enthusiasm, was on duty 20 nights a month. Then I wanted to prove that a woman can also be a good surgeon. But when you are at work for 48 hours all in the sweat of your brow, then you already become a little like a woman. As a result, the husband could not stand it and left. My new husband reminded me that I am a woman. In the end, I chose a family and went on maternity leave. On maternity leave, I decided that I could not and did not want to work in major surgery anymore and I was interested in plastic surgery. Then I found out how to learn and went.

- Who were your first patients?

- Initially, these were relatives, nurses, friends. And then more - through word of mouth, people began to learn about me and go with their problems. The first nurse brought me five more of her friends after the operation. I started with blepharoplasty (eyelid correction. - Ed. Approx.), Abdominoplasty (abdominal correction. - Ed. Approx.), Breast lift, ear and chin plasty.

- Were your first patients afraid for the result?

- No, because they knew me as a surgeon and understood that my hand would not tremble, so there was complete confidence. The nurses to whom I performed the first operations had previously stood with me during the operations, they saw how I worked, so they walked boldly. The first operations were successful, and they gave me the strength to continue doing plastic surgery.

- What types of plastic surgeries are currently the most popular in Yekaterinburg?

- There are two popular areas - breast surgery and facial surgery. On the chest, this is most often an increase and a lift. As for the face, these are operations related to age-related changes. My main patients are mostly women over 50. These are my favorite patients, because a woman in 50 knows exactly what she wants. There are also young patients who want to remake their nose and lips. Now it is fashionable to have enough plump lips, like Angelina Jolie, and many are chasing after this. Fashion is changing, if at the beginning of the 2000s it was fashionable to pump lips with gel to the state of "lip-writing", now this is not the case.

- Why do men come?

- Men most often come to rejuvenate. Mostly these are men who are either constantly in public, for example, artists, or people who date girls who are younger than them.

- How do you feel about women who come with an obsessive desire to enlarge their breasts?

- There are a lot of requests for breast augmentation. It's trendy. But, I believe, it is imposed by the society. Everyone around them says that breast augmentation is cool, that if you have enlarged your breasts, then you are a world star and everything in your life will trample. But no one says that a woman may face problems, that health complications may arise. Many clinics and manufacturers will condemn me, but I am against implants. I believe that this is a foreign body in a woman's body, and in the case when there are no other options, it is better this way than nothing at all. If a woman has her own beautiful breasts and it seems to her that if she had a third size, she would be very lucky in life, I believe that she does not understand all the risks that implants have. If we take women - plastic surgeons, then many do face surgeries, but almost no one puts implants. We just see what happens.

- Why do women want to enlarge their breasts? Does the husband force?

- No. Most often it is a complex. Someone once told them that their breasts were small and they were suffering. This also happens with women who have a normal three.

- With photos of what stars do patients come and ask to do what they have?

- Most often they come with photos of just good photoshop. This may not even be a star. Older women come with their photographs at the age of 20.

- Remember your youngest and oldest patients?

- The youngest was 15 years old, they removed the teenager's lop-earedness. The oldest is 86 years old. It was a woman and we had a facelift.

- Have you done any plastic surgery yourself?

- It's hard to be in this topic and not want to do anything, not get better. Yes, I underwent surgery to restore my body after childbirth. But with age, I will also take care of my face, as long as I have enough cosmetology.

- But what about natural aging?

- In fact, many women come to me who say: “I screamed two years ago that I was for natural aging, and now I have come to you.” I discovered for myself a long time ago that no, I don’t want to. Plastic surgery can give us a few more years to stay young and beautiful. I do not deny that I will do something for myself, not counting the implants.

- When communicating with relatives, friends or now with me, you do not have the thought: “I would correct you here, cut off too much here”?

- When I just started to study plastic surgery, then, entering the car, I thought: why does this tram not go to the plastic surgeon? But then I realized that all people are beautiful. Very often my acquaintances ask me: “Look, do I need to do something?”, But I do not accept these requests and I myself do not look for what and where can be corrected.

- Were there any cases when you discouraged patients from surgeries?

- Yes, sometimes I dissuade, and sometimes I take on what others dissuade. Sometimes it happens that a person gets in the way of nonsense, which is not visible to anyone except him. I had a patient - a girl to whom her husband once said: "You are my big-eyed." She suffered a lot. Then she came to me with the words: "I have very big eyes, I need to reduce them by one millimeter." It was impossible to convince her that she had normal eyes. It was a complex. Now she has normal eyes, we have reduced them, and she feels happy.

- Were there any patients with unusual requests?

- There were - for example, they asked to sew small horns into their heads. I do not undertake this. I think this is unhealthy.

- Do you have favorite patients?

- Favorite patients are patients who are dealing with an unusual or difficult problem. I have those too. For example, I helped a girl whose one breast was much larger than the other. Such people sincerely want to help, because you understand that this is a real problem. Another of my favorite patients is transgender - a bearded man with gorgeous breasts. It was a great pity to have it removed. But now a person is happy, he can walk without any tightening corsets. By the way, many transgender people, when changing their sex, prefer to go to a woman surgeon rather than a man. Perhaps they are afraid of a misunderstanding. I have had many transgender people and with many I still maintain a trusting relationship. Some, even after leaving the city, write to me and share their impressions of the new city, new life. Such an attitude of the patient to the doctor is worth a lot.

- Have you done gender reassignment surgery?

- No. We have very few plastic surgeons in Russia who perform operations below the waist. Now in stores you can buy everything you need quite cheaply. And to do such an operation and recover from it is quite expensive, and it is very difficult for the body. In other countries it is more developed than in Russia, but few of our transgender people change something below the belt. This applies to transgender people moving from women to men. In Russia, this is more often the case, but all over the world most often men turn into women. Russian transgender people who pass from men to women sometimes perform operations below the waist, but in such cases, a gynecologist and a urologist work together with a plastic surgeon. We do this only in large centers.

- How popular is intimate plastic in Yekaterinburg and what types of it are there?

- Intimate plastic is most often in demand among women after natural childbirth. Girls also ask questions about the imbalance of the labia. Among the patients there are also Eastern women who seek restoration of the hymen. At the same time, it often happens that a woman loses her virginity not because of sexual intercourse, but because of some kind of injury, active sports, improper washing.

- How much does it cost to return virginity?

- About 15 thousand rubles.

- Inexpensive.

- Yes. Plastic surgery is now quite affordable. The fact that plastic is the lot of the rich is a myth. Earlier, when plastic was just beginning to develop, it was available only to the rich. But nowadays there are more and more doctors, clinics, and therefore the availability is increasing.

- Do plastic surgeons earn a lot?

- Plastic surgeons earn more than ordinary surgeons, that's a fact. And there are some doctors who can boast of a million dollar salary. But, strange as it may sound, I'm not only interested in money. I'm interested in the work itself. I'm not a pretentious doctor, I don't care what they say or think about me. For the sake of prestige, I won't buy a cool car or a diamond watch. I'd rather spend the money on study, travel, health and development of children. Fortunately, my loved ones support me in this. I don't have a cool car, no palace, and I don't need it. But every 2-3 months I go to various congresses and master classes, study the experience of colleagues, I believe that you need to constantly learn and improve. Because modern medicine is developing by leaps and bounds, what was super yesterday sucks today.

- Do men seek penis enlargement?

- Yes. I studied this direction in plastic surgery in detail in St. Petersburg and now I do such operations myself. Interestingly, most often men resort to an increase in the penis not for functionality, but because of the so-called bath syndrome - so that others will see that he has more and thicker. Here lipofilling comes to the rescue - the introduction of its own fat. Undercutting the ligament helps to lengthen the penis. It can also be visually enlarged through pubic liposuction or scrotal reduction.

- Were there any patients who asked for a complete face change?

- No. Apart from transgender people, who, of course, want to be like the opposite sex.

- How long will it take to change your face beyond recognition?

- One big operation is enough. It is possible in one operation, even if it lasts a long time - 12 hours, but in one operation you can completely change your appearance. After such an operation, a person will be able to go public in 3-4 weeks. Until that time, he will have a large swelling on his face, like homeless people after seven days of drunkenness.

- How often do complications arise after plastic surgery?

- It never happens that everything is always perfect and without complications, but none of the doctors likes to talk about this. I am a human being, and this has happened to me too, but there were no fatal outcomes in my practice, pah-pah. Nobody is safe from complications, even if you are a tough surgeon. Medicine is an imprecise science.

- Considering that today's youth is a generation that spends a lot of time on Instagram, does not disdain photoshop, can we say that plastic surgery will be very popular?

- I think plastic will be popular not only for this reason. We all know that it is always easier for nice people in life - they are always greeted by their clothes, by their appearance. Plastic surgery will be in demand, and the direction itself will develop.
