More than 93.9 million tests for the presence of a new coronavirus infection have been carried out by Russian doctors since the beginning of the pandemic, the press service of Rospotrebnadzor reported.
According to the ministry, over the past day, 383 thousand tests for COVID-19 were done.
Rospotrebnadzor added that 625,950 patients are currently under medical supervision.
As of the morning of January 11, 23,315 new cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in Russia per day. In total, since the beginning of the pandemic in Russia, 3,425,269 people have become ill with coronavirus. 2 800 675 patients recovered, and 62 273 deaths were recorded. Of the regions, Moscow holds the first place in the daily increase in cases - 4646 new cases were detected in the capital per day.
As NEWS.ru wrote, Elena Egorova, the head of the laboratory for quantitative methods of researching regional development of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, believes that the number of coronavirus cases in Russia by the spring may decline due to the vaccination of the population. Nevertheless, the dynamics directly depends on the responsibility of people shown by them during the New Year holidays.
