MOSCOW, December 28 - RIA Novosti. LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky said that he could fall in love with a girl with the appearance of the sculpture of Alenka from Novovoronezh.
Earlier, Zhirinovsky criticized the demolition of the monument to Alenka in Novovoronezh, because a woman is not obliged to meet beauty standards, and said that the Liberal Democratic Party is ready to take the sculpture to install at one of the party facilities. Later, the politician hung a photograph of the sculpture at the entrance to his office in the State Duma.
"Why is Novovoronezh Alenka scary? Normal appearance. I could well fall in love with such a girl," Zhirinovsky wrote on Twitter.
A monument to the 250th anniversary of the village of Novaya Alenovka was opened in Novovoronezh on December 18. The appearance of the monument caused a wide response. Local residents on the VKontakte page asked the mayor's office not to "disgrace the city with this ugliness", to remove "this masterpiece", called the monument "devilry", "a flawed likeness".
At a meeting in the city administration, it was decided to dismantle this art object, the cost of which was about 1 million rubles, while "not a penny was spent" from the city budget. Alenka was dismantled and sent for storage to a municipal enterprise.
