TASS, December 11. Lawyer Anatoly Kucherena joined the new supervisory board of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA). This was reported in a press release from the agency provided to TASS by RUSADA's press service.

On December 11, a general meeting of members of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency took place, which approved the new composition of the Supervisory Board.

The new supervisory board of RUSADA also includes Director of the European Studies Institute MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Tamara Shashikhina, Head of the Department of International Law at Moscow State Law University named after O. E. expert of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and sports doctor Sergey Ilyukov, as well as two members of the former Supervisory Board: Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Chekhonin and pilot-cosmonaut, Hero of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryazansky.

The chairman and vice-chairman of the supervisory board will be elected by voting at its first meeting.

The decision to early terminate the powers of the previous members of the RUSADA Supervisory Board was made on November 24 and is associated with the entry into force of the new World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) code, which states that representatives of the executive authorities, Olympic and Paralympic Committees, sports federations and organizations will no longer be able to enter the governing bodies.
