Scientists at the University of Minnesota conducted an experiment: more than a hundred men looked at a computer image of blondes, brunettes and brown-haired women, and scientists, in turn, monitored their reactions. Most attention was paid to blondes - they seem more attractive to the strong half of humanity. This was reported in the Daily Mail.
In this case, men only confirmed the prevailing stereotype about the greater availability of women with blond hair. That is why they pay more attention to blondes and are almost always ready to have an affair with them, according to the observers of another publication - Journal of Social Psychology.
The British television company Sky News is also sure of this. She published the results of a survey, during which respondents were asked to choose from several photos of the same woman, but with different hair colors, and also answer a number of questions. It turned out that almost 40 percent of the respondents from among the representatives of the stronger sex would really not refuse adultery with a blonde, but at the same time, a third of the respondents said that they would choose a brunette for their wife, a little less voted for a brown-haired wife and less than 10 percent - for the redhead. Only 15 percent of respondents would like to marry a blonde. The men explained this choice by the fact that, in their opinion, brunettes are more independent and reliable in terms of housekeeping and responsibility for children. They, as a rule, earn more than their fair-haired girlfriends, men say. At the same time, more than half of the men surveyed are confident that blondes are in the clear majority among female celebrities.
The Austrian professor anthropologist Karl Grammer gives a scientific explanation for such an obvious preference for the stronger sex. He claims that natural blondes have higher estrogen levels than women with dark hair, but testosterone levels, on the contrary, are lower. This combination affects not only the appearance of blond beauties (mainly small facial features, narrow shoulders, smooth skin), but also behavior - as a rule, blondes are more playful and infantile.
