New York surgeon Emil Chinn spoke about a new eye surgery that has become popular among young people. Reported by the Mirror.
Patients began to turn to the Park Avenue Lasek Surgery clinic with a request to implant pieces of metal of various shapes into their eyeballs. According to those who underwent the procedure, the process is painless and takes five minutes, and the rehabilitation period lasts three days.
“This is purely cosmetic surgery. All jewelry was designed in Holland about ten years ago. Hundreds of Europeans have already undergone implantation without any problems,”said the surgeon.
Platinum stars, hearts and other jewelry are three by four millimeters in area, and less than one millimeter thick. Dr. Chinn states that the metal almost never causes an allergic reaction, and can be removed from the eye at any time.
In April, a model from Argentina underwent a surgical procedure to change the color of her eyes and practically lost her sight. Nadine Bruna, 32, changed her brown eyes to blue with silicone implants.
According to her, the operation was unsuccessful, and as a result, she began to see "as a 90-year-old woman."
