The trade turnover of the Nizhny Novgorod region and China in 2020 increased by 30.5% and amounted to $ 825 million.

Olga Guseva, Director of the Department of External Relations, said that last year supplies to the partner country increased 1.6 times and amounted to $ 382 million.
“The amount of export operations for 2020 is 21 times higher than the figures of six years ago. For comparison, for the entire 2014, the volume of supplies to China amounted to only $ 18 million. I think this is a colossal achievement, Guseva said.
According to the department, the growth of Nizhny Novgorod exports to the PRC last year was due to an increase in the supply of fats and oils, electrical machinery and equipment, printing, paper and wood products, as well as ferrous metallurgy products.
“In 2020, about 50 Nizhny Novgorod companies were supplying products to China. The actively developing trade relations with China are of great importance for the region. We intend to further expand our mutually beneficial cooperation,”added Guseva.
Earlier, the TV channel "360" reported that the Moscow region exported fish and seafood for $ 13.8 million per year.
