The proposal to reimburse Russians for coronavirus test fees deserves implementation, but it needs to be finalized. This was stated by Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, commenting on the idea of social activists.
Earlier, the Union of Consumers of the Russian Federation and the International Confederation of Consumer Societies took the initiative to reimburse citizens' expenses for tests in private clinics. They explained the proposal by queues at state polyclinics, which is why citizens have to go to private traders.
Svetlana Bessarab, quoted by RT, suggested working out the idea together with doctors. According to her, under the insurance principles of health care, it will not be possible to simply start paying citizens for tests in private clinics. Another thing is if there is a referral from a doctor, but for some reason it is impossible to get to him or take tests for a long time.
"In these cases, it is necessary to give the patient the opportunity to go to a private clinic and include them in the compulsory medical insurance system," the parliamentarian added.
