MOSCOW, August 16 - RIA Novosti. Plastic surgery is booming amid the spread of the coronavirus, the New York Times reported.
The newspaper notes that during the pandemic, the number of video calls using various services has increased dramatically. However, such changes did not please everyone - many people are unhappy with how they look in the frame. Because of this, they are increasingly using the services of plastic surgeons.
"I've never had as many facelifts in one summer as this year," admitted Dr. Diana Alexander, an Atlanta-based plastic surgeon.
She said that from May 18 to the end of July she performed 251 procedures. According to her, most of the clients come to her with the words "I called up through Zoom, and I don't know what happened, but I look terrible."
The publication calls this trend unexpected, since plastic surgery in the United States is quite expensive - the cost of various procedures ranges from $ 3.3 thousand to $ 25 thousand. At the same time, plastic surgery is often not covered by insurance.
