We will return to this topic more than once, but today we decided to talk about lip contouring, and with the questions we are interested in we turned to a dermatovenerologist, cosmetologist, trichologist, leading specialist of the central institute of botulinum therapy and topical neurology, employee of the Premium Med clinic, Anna Soboleva.

In what cases is it still worth deciding on lip plastics? Firstly, you may simply not be satisfied with the shape of the lips and you want to change it. Secondly, thin lips and their lack of volume. Thirdly, lip asymmetry, which becomes especially noticeable when talking or certain facial expressions. Fourth, the drooping corners of the mouth, which can make you seem sadder than you really are. Fifth, wrinkles and folds near the mouth, which do not want to succumb to the effects of anti-aging cosmetics.

There are many lip plastics techniques, each of which is aimed at correcting a specific problem.

Linear plastics are used to emphasize the Cupid's arch (the central part of the upper lip) and the contour. This procedure is carried out with a minimum amount of the drug.

Mona Lisa. This technique is designed to lift the corners of your lips and make you smile, even if you weren't planning on smiling.

The fan technique is designed to add volume to the lips. The drug is injected without removing the needle, unfolding it at an acute angle.

The volumetric linear technique is suitable for creating the most plump lips, which requires a large amount of the drug.

The drip technique is responsible for lifting the upper lip or increasing the volume of its central part.

The Parisian technique of lip augmentation creates childishly swollen lips, the so-called "bows", devoid of vulgarity. The injections are carried out vertically, so that the drug enters the central part of the lips.

Mesh is a technique that allows you to make your lips plumper and firmer. The filler is injected at right angles, along lines located close to each other.

The drug for the procedure is chosen by the doctor, based on the anatomical structure of the lips, their thickness and the client's requests - the desired volume and shape. For narrow lips, the least viscous filler is used, and there are cases when the correction is carried out in several stages so that the lips do not turn into a "duck's beak", as in the victims of unsuccessful plastic surgery. To correct asymmetry and eliminate wrinkles, a medium viscosity filler is suitable. It will not create excess volume, but it will cope with creases and fill the void in the tissues. Holders of plump lips will need a thicker filler that can correct the contour, replenish lost volume and even reshape.

The whole procedure takes about 30-40 minutes. First, local anesthesia is applied, then the lips and the area around are treated with chlorhexidine, and only then they proceed directly to the correction. The filler is injected into the lips along the contour, into the thickness of the lips and the corners of the mouth. Then it is kneaded, and then everything is processed again with chlorhexidine. The last stage is the application of a healing cream (panthenol and traumeel). The healing period lasts several days, and during this time, experts advise refraining from hot food, not using lipstick, not biting your lips or kissing. Also, do not visit the baths and saunas.

After lip correction, an increase in nasolabial folds may occur, therefore it is very important to observe the layer into which the filler is injected, its volume and frequency of procedures. Incorrect administration leads to displacement of the drug and the creation of an additional crease between the lip and nasolabial fold.
