In Chelyabinsk, a macaque was brought to the veterinarian Karen Dallakyan, which he sheltered due to the fact that trainers from Shadrinsk refused it. The owners canceled the tour during the pandemic and they had to change the field of activity.

The animal rights activist told about this on Instagram Live. As it turned out, Martin worked in a big top for a long time, now he is 7 years old, when coronavirus restrictions were introduced and public events and performances, including tours, were canceled, his owners - trainers - lost income and the ability to support her. Now the trainers have come to work on a daily schedule, and the animal requires constant care.

For a month, the couple talked with representatives of the Save Me Foundation, and as a result, Martin was brought in and quarantined for tests.

Karen said that Martin does not trust anyone yet - a little aggression comes from him. It will take time to establish a dialogue with him. The veterinarian said that the macaque may remain in the fund, perhaps it will be transferred to the zoo center.

“The monkey was brought to us recently. When she was seven months old, she was already bringing income to the owners (I saw a photo of her in a New Year's cap and sitting in a glass), for 7 years she “fed” the trainers, difficulties came - the business was closed and she was no longer needed. It was necessary to bring and give like this. I look at this monkey - she sits in a cage and looks at the door. I see in my eyes that the animal is waiting for its family, in which it lived. Thanks for giving. She is well-groomed - all is well with health. But psychologically it is hard for her - she is bored,”Dallakyan shared with subscribers.

The veterinarian noticed that primates are gregarious animals for such a time she adopted this family, the monkey may even become depressed. Karen suggests that the attention of people will help her survive this period, perhaps she will be given sedative herbs and a hairy toy with which she can be distracted - to look for parasites from her.
