These and other questions are answered by the leading makeup artist of Marc Jacobs Beauty Gilbert Soliz (@gilbert_soliz) - BeautyHack spoke to him during the opening of the first Sephora store in Russia.
-What, in your opinion, are the main makeup trends this fall?
-The emphasis on large expressive eyes is one of the main trends this fall. Pearl, copper, metallic, taupe, emerald - these shades can be found in the new eye shadows with a gel texture O! Mega Eye Shadows Marc Jacobs Beauty, and these are the colors that everyone will wear this season.

The trend for healthy glowing skin is still relevant - I believe it will never go out of style. This is one of the main features of modern makeup. Dense tone and matte - all this has long been in the past.
Due to the fact that the main accent is on the eye makeup, it is best to make the lips as neutral as possible: pale pink shades, beige nude variations - this is what is now popular in the West.
-You have worked for a long time with the legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath. What secret beauty hacks did she teach you?
-I especially remember the following techniques:
1) Apply lipstick with your fingertips - in this case, the pigment will look more natural on the lips.
2) Use a moisturizer as a base for makeup instead of a primer - this will make the skin more hydrated.
3) Instead of blush, apply lipstick to the apples of your cheeks - just for a natural effect.
4) First, paint over the eyelashes with mascara and only then apply shadows: this technique "opens the eyes", changes their shape. When they are open and visually larger, it is easier to match the shade of the eyeshadow and further eye makeup.
-You have a lot of experience in creating images for stars. What shooting will you never forget?
- One of my clients is singer Mariah Carey. Very often, in the process of creating makeup, she began to sing - this is an unforgettable experience, because I listened to her songs when I was little. And Kylie Minogue did the same. This is amazing! When I create an image of any client, we communicate a lot, and I seem to be in his world for this time, I get to know the person much better. I also worked with Anna Wintour, Olivia Culpo, Lindsay Lohan - an incredible experience!

I also recommend trying the Magic Marc’er eyeliner: it is creamy, waterproof and easy to draw arrows. Velvet Noir Mascara will replace false eyelashes. -Always fresh, radiant and healthy skin. The main focus is on the eyes: I would even say that the drama effect is quite a popular phenomenon. Russian girls love long and voluminous eyelashes. It seems that they have a finger on the pulse and are always aware of global trends that are popular all over the world.
-Who are your idols?
- I admire people who are not afraid to challenge life, take risks, experiment - for example, Leni Kravets, Madonna, Victoria Beckham.
