The authorities of Buryatia have introduced a two-week quarantine to combat the coronavirus epidemic. The head of the region, Alexey Tsydenov, announced that all shopping centers, cafes, restaurants, beauty salons and fitness clubs will be completely closed until November 30. This is the first Russian region to go on a lockdown after the weakening of protective measures in the summer. According to the administration, the quarantine is associated with a shortage of "covid" places in hospitals, as well as with a shortage of drugs.

“From November 16 to November 30 inclusively, the work of restaurants, cafes, canteens, canteens, bars, snack bars and other public catering establishments has been suspended, with the exception of take-out services without citizens visiting the premises of such enterprises, as well as delivery of orders, <…> suspended the activity of retail facilities, shopping centers, shopping malls, shopping and entertainment centers ", - reported in the administration of the region.

According to the head of Buryatia, restrictions will be lifted on November 30. “There will be no prolongation of restrictions. If someone violates the conditions during this period, then the claim of Rospotrebnadzor may be closed for a longer period , - he said, and added that a longer lockdown would cause significant damage to the economy of the subject.

Quarantine had to be announced, among other things, due to the difficult situation with COVID-19, Tsydenov noted. “There is a shortage of drugs in pharmacies. More and more beds are needed every day. There are more than 25,000 unprocessed tests in laboratories, and they work around the clock. Doctors work hard, clenching their teeth - he stressed.

The head of the region specified that the majority of new cases of the disease are detected among young people from 19 to 30 years old. “People, wake up! <…> Young people do not think about themselves or about those around them. This is not the time for jokes, we need to change the situation both in consciousness, in behavior, and in the health care system ", - he turned to the inhabitants of Buryatia.

According to the latest data, 14,838 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Buryatia. As of November 15, over the previous day, the diagnosis was confirmed in 235 patients, the day before - in 237 people. 273 patients died from the disease. Earlier, the authorities ordered to transfer 30% of employees of all enterprises to remote work. Only pupils of 9-11 grades go to school, elementary school students stay on vacation for another two weeks, the rest are switching to distance learning.
