PARIS, January 25. / TASS /. The French Ministry of Sports and the Ministry of Health of the Republic have completed a project to develop a special antiviral mask for athletes. This was reported on Sunday evening by the France Info radio station.

The work has been carried out since June last year, a large number of specialists and firms were employed in them. The product is made of a special multi-layered and soft filtering fabric, which causes pleasant sensations when in contact with the face. At the same time, the shape of the mask has been slightly modified so that it does not touch the lips and does not draw into the mouth even with intense breathing, which inevitably occurs when trying to run in a conventional medical mask.

Its attachment has also been improved so that it does not move across the face during sudden movements. The developers, who have repeatedly tested their new product, said that it is very comfortable, and it is easy to breathe in it, unlike all other existing models.

The mask has been successfully patented. Moreover, as the developers said, this production patent will be granted to all enterprises interested in its release.

As the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports of the republic Roxana Marasinyanu, who was one of the initiators of the project, emphasized in an interview with LCI TV channel, she “has high hopes for this mask, which will allow people to play sports in a safe environment - both in the halls and outdoors ". According to her, this invention "largely depends on whether the sports sector will be able to survive in a pandemic, because otherwise it will simply be impossible for the players to maintain the established safety distances."

The minister said that the mask will first be certified by the French Committee for Standards, and then sent for examination to the Ministry of Health and the Council on Public Health. In case of a favorable decision, its production will be launched within a few weeks, and it will go on sale.
