At the same competition, 19-year-old Morgan took the title of "Miss South Dakota". But the girl admitted that she was happy for her mother much more than for herself: “Most of all that day I liked looking at my mother. She looked so happy and confident and beautiful. " The women were supported by the father of the family, a 49-year-old disabled veteran named Scott.
After the award, Tina could not contain her emotions and admitted that she never thought that she would become a beauty queen - after graduating from school, she weighed 136 kilograms and was very worried about this. “Food was my demon. I don't drink alcohol or smoke, the food was my consolation. I liked the good old American fast food: pizza, donuts, McDonald's,”the woman said.
In 2009, she underwent an operation to reduce the volume of her stomach, began to lead a healthy lifestyle, lost 72 kilograms in ten months and has not gained weight since then. Tina noted that sometimes old complexes haunted her, but winning the competition helped her say goodbye to them forever.
Girls and women from four to 56 years old can participate in the Miss South Dakota contest. Participants undergo a private interview with five judges, then answer questions on stage, and also participate in a fashion show in a tracksuit and evening dress.
