To keep your makeup perfect all day long and not be afraid of any temperature changes, take note of eight rules from Elena Krygina, top makeup artist, beauty expert, founder of the Krygina Beauty Store and Krygina Studio, author of the popular YouTube video blog.

1. Use oil

Be sure to pay attention to your skin. In the cold season, she needs care. First of all, use oil. Apply it all over your face in a thin layer - this little trick will help you keep your makeup longer (it will not roll off and “peel off” during the day).

2. Switch to thick foundation

In the cold season, it is best to skip light moisturizers. In cold weather, they are useless. On the contrary, try denser textures. If they are too thick for you, then thin them with a drop of oil - this trick will help you create a smoother and more durable finish.

3. Create a protective coating with loose powder

When the temperature outside the window is low, I advise you to apply loose powder with a large brush, without driving it into the skin. Thus, the powder will act as a protective cushion against cold air.

4. Make masks with lip balm

The less you use balms during the day, the better, because the skin of the lips needs to be prepared in advance. To do this, use a balm (for example, Lucas' Papaw Ointment) as a mask for the night, after exfoliating the skin of the lips with sugared thick honey or a special scrub or a regular toothbrush. You will see, in the morning the lipstick will lie just perfect.

Also, Lucas' Papaw Ointment can be applied to any other chapped areas of the face - before bed, so that everything is flawless in the morning.

5. Paint lips with creamy matte lipstick

If your lips are already chapped, painting them with moisturizing lipstick is useless. It will not saturate them with moisture and will not cope with peeling, plus it will lie unevenly. In this case, it is better to use a thick, creamy matte lipstick. But remember: it needs to be repainted during the day. That is, first you apply the balm, then the lipstick. After two hours, you wash it off completely and repeat the ritual.

6. Cover redness with green primer

Use translucent green primers to hide redness on your face. They perfectly neutralize redness. You can easily cover them with foundation - and you're done. The "light green" base Make Up For Ever has shown itself well in this respect.

The only important point: it should not be applied to the entire face, but locally - to problem areas.

7. Forget the golden bronzer

In the winter season, cold shades look much more advantageous (it is better to leave warm ones for the summer). This is due to the fact that everything around is rather gray and gloomy. And your golden bronzer against such a background will seem red. Therefore, it is best to use highlighters in lilac-pinkish shades.

Also relevant will be a primer and illuminator, which contain reflective particles of pearl tones without a bronzing effect. They will help brighten the skin and create a beautiful, healthy glow.

8. Use waterproof mascara

With waterproof mascara, snow or sudden rain won't ruin your makeup. If your eyes are watery from the wind or frost, then make it a rule to use cream or liquid shadows, gel pencils - they dry quickly and do not smudge during the day!
