The priests who had previously visited the actor Mikhail Efremov, who was convicted of a fatal road accident in the pre-trial detention center, were without masks, because the doctors examined them and stated that they were healthy. This explanation was given by a representative of the Office of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) of Russia in the Belgorod region.

“At the entrance to the institution, everyone, including the clergy, was examined by doctors, and it was stated that they were healthy. It is compulsory that everyone at the entrance to the institution undergoes medical control , - quotes the representative of the Federal Penitentiary Service RIA Novosti. She added that she would not comment on the presence of Mikhail Efremov at the service, as well as information about his quarantine.

On November 20, on the portal of the Belgorod Metropolitanate, as well as on the website of the regional administration of the Federal Penitentiary Service, reports were published that Metropolitan Eminence John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol had visited pre-trial detention center 3 in Belgorod. John served a prayer service for the sick in the church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, located in the isolation ward, and then conducted confession. The photo on the website of the Metropolitanate showed Mikhail Efremov in a half-down mask and priests without personal protective equipment.

On November 16, the actor's lawyer Andrei Aleshkin said that the condition of his client was “good, vigorous,” he has been in quarantine for the eighth day.

The accident involving Efremov took place on the evening of June 8 in Moscow. The actor drove an SUV at high speed into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a van. The driver Sergei Zakharov, who received numerous injuries, died in the hospital. Efremov himself was not injured.

The court found Efremov guilty of violating traffic rules while intoxicated, resulting in the death of a person. According to the judge, Efremov's correction is impossible without isolation from society. The actor was also deprived of his driver's license for a period of three years and compensated the moral damage to the victims. The relatives of the deceased courier's family recognized the court's verdict as fair.
