The most beautiful grandmother in the world - 52-year-old Iraida Gorea advises all Moldovan women not to limit themselves by age and believe in their own strength. By her example, Iraida proved that after 50, life can also be filled with new colors.

Gorya always dreamed of taking part in a beauty contest. But in her youth there was no such opportunity - the woman raised three children. Already at the age of Balzac, she began to closely follow the news from the world of gloss. I learned about the existence of a competition among grandmothers several years ago: in 2014, a resident of Moldova took part in it. In 2019, the competition was to be held in Singapore.
"I wanted to refuse to participate in it because of financial costs. The ticket is expensive. But then I was told that the competition will be held in Sofia, and I was very happy," - said the interlocutor.
A contestant from Moldova has been preparing for the competition for over a month. For the nomination "Talent" she chose belly dance, which she had never performed before.
“I agreed with the coach and started to train. I gave myself the nickname Toptygin, because nothing worked from the very beginning. I'll get lost, I'll start singing a cappella. In Moldavian style and in oriental dress! , - said Gorya.
Behind the scenes of the competition
Despite the fact that each participant came to Sofia to win, the atmosphere behind the scenes of the competition was friendly, our compatriot shared her impressions. The women helped each other to change clothes and in every possible way encouraged their rivals with a kind word. By the way, there were no age restrictions for participating in the competition for the title of the most beautiful grandmother.

Among the contestants there were ladies in the age of slightly over 40 and several over 80 years old. The main condition was the presence of grandchildren. One of the highlights was the fashion show in national costumes. For example, a participant from Estonia came out in a dress sewn 200 years ago, Gorya said. Our compatriot ordered her costume from the craftswomen, who embroidered it by hand.
"Other contestants approached me and admired the rich embroidery of our national costume. I am proud to be in it. I want to give my costume to my granddaughter, because thanks to her I got to this competition," said Gorya.
Children and grandchildren followed Iraida's progress on the Internet. They have long gone abroad and gather together mainly for the holidays.
